Avery Marsh

Avery Marsh (she/they) is a local Kalamazoo artist originally from Big Rapids, Michigan. In 2018 she moved down to Kalamazoo to attened Western Michigan University, where they studied Scenic Design for Theatre for about a year before deciding to take a break from school. Now Avery lives in the Vine Neighborhood and frequently vends at local shows.

In High School, Avery's art mostly consisted of graphite portraits, and sketches. Though still her preferred medium, since moving to Kalmazoo they have been playing with more color, using different mediums and focussing more on graphic design and typography. Often making show posters and chalk board signs for local businesses.

Her latest venture is learning digital art. Previously Avery did all their digital peices on their phone, but through support of her partner, she can fully explore digital art on a real drawing tablet. Their latest show poster for Cats Cradle is entirely digital, and you can see how they made the piece on their instagram: @Spam.Burgers
